WHY YOU MAY NEED INTEGRATED CARE

The expectation is that every person is able to achieve
a change in their body pattern after their first visit
This means that your brain learned how to turn off whatever has been overworking in your body and contributing to your pain (whether it be your neck, back, or extremity muscle group).
The next goal is that between visits your body is maintaining this pattern upon returning without having to do any exercises prior to in-clinic assessment. If that goal is met, you can progress onto retraining optimal mechanics that the body should have been using to avoid relapse or injury. If the goal of maintaining freedom of movement in the body is not met, we assess sensory feedback your body receives from specific areas of the body that may be preventing your body from changing. This is quite common in patients who have chronic issues, who only experience temporary relief, or who have tried many different therapy modalities in the the past. Their sensory system is functioning in a way that redirects them back into their old pattern. Altering the sensory input helps them process tension and movement differently so that they may achieve a better output and therefore a better outcome.
When collaboration is needed
If your body is able to break free of its old pattern through retraining activities alone, integrated care is often not needed.
However, if you have been consistent with your retraining program and it does not stick for your body, Dr. Brian will need to determine what other influences may be pulling you back into your old pattern. Based on the results from assessments, Dr. Brian will determine if you would benefit from integrated care at one or more of the following areas:
